Despite retiring in April, Vanessa Atkinson who now lives in Leeds, couldn’t pass up the chance to play in a tournament so close to home. Vanessa grabbed her 24th title at the Tour 4 Mantis Nottingham Open, a new stop on the WISPA tour.

Unseeded Natalie Grinham secured the shortest quarter-final win of the day in the Women’s Atwater Cup to earn a place in the last four of the WISPA World Tour Silver 20 squash event in its third year at Club Atwater in the Canadian city of Montreal.

Malaysia’s Nicol David, who has topped the women’s world squash rankings unopposed since August 2006, begins her 2011 campaign at the new Cleveland WISPA Classic, the first WISPA Gold event of the year at the Cleveland Racquet Club in Cleveland in the US state of Ohio from 30 January to 2 February.
