Egypt retained the men’s and women’s squash titles in the Arab Games after first-time triumphs by Tarek Momen and Raneem El Weleily in the 2011 championships’ finals at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in the Qatar capital Doha.

The World Squash Federation’s inaugural WSF Ambassador Programme in Latvia last week was hailed as an “inspiration” to the country’s squash community at the end of the three-day visit to the Baltic country’s capital Riga featuring leading international players Nicol David and John White.

The World Squash Federation (WSF) formally announced today that the 2014 WSF Women’s World Team Squash Championship has been awarded to Canada. The event will take place at White Oaks Conference Resort & Spa (The Club at White Oaks) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, from 1-6 December 2014.

The current circumstances in Egypt have forced the World Squash Federation to relocate the 2012 WSF Men’s and Women’s World Junior Individual and Men’s Junior Team Squash Championships.

Jonathon Power and Nicol David, two of the greatest names in world squash, will lead the inaugural WSF Ambassador Programme in Latvia later this year.

World Squash Day 2011, which takes place on Saturday 5 November, will focus on attracting a new generation of female players to the sport.
