Alison on a mission in the Finals

After the men’s final, the crowd and the Malaysian support group was geared up for the women’s finals. Another exciting final waiting to happen.

Alison Waters was ready to take on this finals and I knew she was up for it. I couldn’t take any shot lightly because when she had the openings, she made the most of it. The first game I took a bit of control off Alison at times but it wasn’t easy to take it from her.

In the second, she stuck to what she was doing with better precision. Some close scores throughout that game but I pushed through it to win the game.

Similar situation in the third game but when I was leading 9-7, she relaxed and played some great attacking shots to take the game from me.

Then I went back in there and kept working hard while trying to keep her away from her attacking position. A couple of unforced errors from her at the tail end of the game gave me an advantage to win the match 3-1.

A fantastic Malaysian Open for me and it’s great winning it back here in K.L. More updates to follow next week at the Singapore Open. Thank you for following our live blogging!
