Meet the Stars: Nicol David

The founder of Squash Stars, Nicol Ann David, is back to defend her Malaysian Open title for the sixth time. Having won all the tournaments she participated in 2008, Nicol is looking to add to the 44 WISPA Tour Titles she has under her belt to-date.

Nicol who loves the colour purple, hails from the Pearl of the Orient–Penang, and is an ex-student of the famous Convent Green Lane. As with all Malaysians, she has a passion for food with her all-time favourites being her Mum’s cooking and Penang food, especially char koay teow.

Nicol’s lightning speed on court earned her the nickname Duracell Bunny within the squash circuit. This four-time World Open champion has her eyes set on the Commonwealth Gold medal which will be up for grabs in New Delhi in October this year. Nicol partnered Ong Beng Hee in mixed doubles to clinch the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, Manchester 2002.
