Meet the Stars: Aisling Blake

Aisling Blake, born in Dublin, is Ireland’s No. 2 in women’s squash behind compatriot Madeline Perry. She started playing squash at the age of eight and had a strong junior career, including winning the Belgian Junior Open and Irish Nationals several times.

Since finishing a business degree in 2004, Aisling is now based in Amsterdam and trains in the well-known Squash City club under the tutelage of Liz Irving, who is also the coach of World No. 1 Nicol David.

Aisling broke into the WISPA top 30 in 2009 and is currently ranked No. 24. The latest feather to her cap was the Hemubo Squash Trophy 2010 win over Lauren Siddall of England. Apart from squash, Aisling enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.
