Texas Open '09: Geared up for Quarters against Isabelle Stoehr

It’s Friday evening with the amateur tournament happening at the same time as the Wispa event. Everyone crowded around after they had played to watch us battle it out on court.
Isabelle and I both were on a roll with good shot selection and working the court well. It was high intensity, especially the first game. Then in the next two games, Isabelle was using her lobs just to change it up a little. My focus stayed the same throughout the match and I managed to maintain my own game.
In the third, Isabelle came up with a string of points to begin with, then I had to make sure I would take her on with each rally. Got a reasonable lead, then finished steadily at the end of the match.
Playing Jenny Duncalf of England in the Semis tomorrow after her five set win over Rachael Grinham. Let’s see what happens…
